Okay, now I know it isn't "art" so nobody get mad at me lol This is just what I painted last night/this morning. I like it. I'm proud of it. I'm proud because it's me. I've always tried to paint like my mother. I'm not very good at it lol Despite her praise, I'm not. It's too fussy for me. It takes too much thought and not enough emotion. Well, for me, maybe it's different for her. For instance, I've been working on a painting of a tree for almost three years. I paint on it for about a week, then it gets put away until I feel like messing with it again. It's a fussy painting. It requires perfection. This eye, required nothing but emotion. I didn't even intend to paint an eye, that's just what happened. I'm proud of that. I really am.
Now, to figure out what all it symbolizes in my life at the moment. Let's see... Eyes... Windows to the soul, vulnerable, an opening. Yellow for fear. Red for frustration, anger. Green, like I said before, a private jealousy. The lashes, blue for peace, the green and purple for serenity. Red and yellow at the tips, like flowers, a new stage in life. The red and yellow beneath the eye for excitement, thrill. The red and black have always been colors of passion to me. Perhaps that part off the painting is what's behind the eye. Desire, passion, love, all deeply hidden. The same "new stage" lashes crowning it.
Everyone sees what they want to see in a painting though, of course. I'm curious what it might symbolize to other people. What emotions it might envoys. What does it feel like to look at this? Is it eerie? Calming? Exciting? I know what it is for me, I painted it lol But what is it for you?

Beautiful! To me it looked like a bird's feather - possibility of flight.
I think you are talented; don't be so hard on yourself.
