A Comment

This was an email I wrote in response to a comment. I know many of you won't agree. But that's okay. I just want people to know where I stand. And I swear I'll make some happier entries soon. I just had to address this comment:

I totally don't approve of war unless it is pretty much inevitably necessary. Like WWII was justified in my mind, but anyway...this message is one of the reasons why! I had a friend a few years ago whose brother got shipped out...and it's just a very sad and emotional thing that doesn't need to happen....

My entire family was in every war America has every had since we came here from Scotland over 400 years ago. I believe that this war was inevitable. I do understand the hate of war. I hate it. I don't think you could be human and not hate it. But I understand why this had to happen.

Did you know that Saddam was using meat grinders to kill people while they were still alive? A journalist from Britain reported this. He had seen them, and the bodies. Or what was left of them. He said witnesses had watched as men and women were beaten then as their feet and legs were ground by these machines, and finally bled to death.

Did you know that only a week ago, a large chemical weapon was stopped in Jordan? The men in security stopped it? They tracked it to find that only a few weeks before we had entered Iraq, it had been shipped to Syria then, after being held there, was sent to Jordan and was on its way back to Iraq?

These are the things you don't hear about on the news. I've had to dig this up. This is what is not being said. I support Bush. He has my full support. Saddam was evil in it's purest form. He had to be stopped.

I'm just trying to explain my point of view. These men and women are going over there willingly. This isn't like the old days when people were drafted. This is what they choose.

Now I don't want anyone mad at me! I'm just stating my mind. I came to AOL Journals knowing full well that not everything I said wouldn't be agreed with. And not everything I heard I would agree with. But I still feel I have to stand for what I believe in. And please, I don't mind if you disagree. I would still like to hear it.
