Snow, Misquitoes, Rape

It snowed today. Big, white, wet, frozen, flakes of water. I was hoping we'd seen the end of it. There was actually grass outside. Beautiful lushous grass yawning stems. I miss grass. I miss water. All the lakes are frozen. I miss the lakes.

One good thing about winter: NO MISQUITOES!!!!!

I'm glad they're gone. For the time being. I think I'm allergic to them or something. When I get bit, it swells up really big. Bigger than normal. Liek if I see it land and it just starts to bite, I'll still get a nickle sized chunk of swollen flesh. Oh well. I don't hink there's anything I can do about it.... Or is there?

I watched the news last night. I usually do. They gave statistics on underage sexual preditors. Did you know there are 3 at the age of thirteen? Scary. Then on... what was it? It was one of those TV shows like 20/20 or Primetime. There was a story on a girl who had been raped. She had been brought to a feild raped then shot three times. And lived. And made her story known.
I've known serveral women who were raped. At least, those are the only ones I know about. Why don't people speak up about it? Rape is not somehting to be ashamed of. It isn't the girl or boy's fault. They couldn't do a thing about it. I wish more people would speak up. It's bigger than anyone thinks.

Read "Speak." Very good book. I really felt like I was her. Even guys ought to red this.
